We had a wonderful time at Alila Ventana. The food was five star chef quality and the customer service was top-notch. It was a very relaxing getaway which is what we were after.

This is one of our all-time favorite places to stay! All-inclusive and in the redwoods… you can’t beat this. We enjoyed filet, wine and sorbet at dinner, with our server Juan Alvarez. Thank you Juan, you are something special!!! Can’t wait to come back and visit again

Here’s an updated version with that nuance added: ? Our stay at Alila Ventana Big Sur was absolutely outstanding. From beginning to end, every part of the experience felt warm, genuine, and beautifully curated. A major highlight was the Coast Ridge Hike led by Kyle. He was funny, easygoing, and brought such a positive energy to the experience. We genuinely enjoyed spending the morning with him. We also loved the cold-process soap-making class with Katie. She made the workshop fun, hands-on, and relaxing. We left with a new appreciation for the craft—and some amazing soap to take home. The bellmen and housekeeping teams were exceptional. Every interaction felt sincere, prompt, and attentive. It really made the stay feel effortless. And in the dining room, we were lucky to be served by Ramiro on several nights. His warm, gracious service and thoughtful attention elevated each meal and made us feel truly cared for. Alila Ventana’s stunning setting is unbeatable, but the people here are what make the experience extraordinary. This was one of our favorite getaways, and we can’t wait to return. Highly recommend.

For a resort that starts at ~$2,000/night this place falls very short in various areas. For an all inclusive resort there were very few dining options (it was either the sur house or the pool side bar). Most of the staff were really friendly but we did feel like the housekeeping staff weren’t too professional at times (once they opened the door to our room even when we told them to give us a few seconds to get to the door). Although the resort is in a beautiful location, I don’t know if I would consider this place luxurious.

Fantastic location with friendly and attentive staff. You are made to feel at home. Excellent room service. Plenty of amenities and experiences to try out. Perfect getaway along the coast for those looking to unwind. Strongly recommend the day/night hikes with Kyle. Mouthwatering food served at the Sur House. Great ambience and a spectacular view of the coast. The food always tasted fresh and delicious. You can't go wrong with the Confit Duck Leg. By far the best dish I had. You owe it to yourself to visit Alila Ventana Big Sur. A memorable experience filled with fantastic food, spectacular views, superb staff, and fun activities.

Everything about this location is superb! The incredible setting amongst the redwoods overlooking the Pacific, the food, the record player in the room while sitting by the fireplace, the outstanding service from each and every staff member, and the delicious cuisine. Every plate is accented with local, seasonal produce. The infinity hot tub overlooking the Forest was so memorable. What an escape!

Great food. Great experience with gluten-free and dairy free dining. Very relaxing. Everything was pretty easy. First, I am celiac and eating gluten-free and dairy free at the restaurant and room service was easy. . I did not try the pool bar. It was pretty cool that weekend so we were not at the pool at lunchtime. The snacks that are provided in the room were not gluten-free. That was not a big deal for us as I felt like I have plenty to eat at the meals. I also cannot walk very far or for very long. The golf carts were readily available to take me where we needed to go on the resort with a quick response to a text message request. I did call the resort prior to our visit and request that our room have minimal steps or hills to reach it. They nicely accommodated me in a room close to the social house. Tips: schedule your spa treatments, and your dinner reservations before arriving. We also enjoy the falconry and a meditation. I would recommend both of them. We stayed 2 nights but 3 would have been perfect.

Came here for 2 nights as a Hyatt Globalist. I think this resort is Hyatt’s way to thank all their loyal customers to this special retreat. We were upgraded to a Vista Suite which was 770 sq. Feet with a hot tub and stocked fridge. All your meals, snacks and non alcoholic beverages are included. Service was very good and a real friendly staff. The views are amazing as well as the hikes. The meals are amazing especially for dinner. Get Richard as your waiter and you can get the entire history as he has been here for 40 years. Their a 2 pools and a Japanese spa. The main pool has an infinity spa overlooking the valley of trees. Very impressive resort and if you need a few days to unwind you found your sanctuary!

Can't wait to go back...booked for next year. Superb in every way. Pricey, but worth it as a splurge. Relaxed upon arrival. Food was fantastic, especially considering it was all inclusive.
